What do you use for fly spray?

Years ago I used Avon Skin So Soft....diluted with water. This worked really well. It never bothered my horses or hurt them. It has been 9 years since then and we have horses again.

What are your comments on this and what do you use?

I think SSS & water is a great basic spray. Ive also spiked SSS into less impressive or foulsmelling regular sprays. I like good, cheap sprays like Bronco, so I can use liberally & not skimp b/c of cost. Of the 'better' sprays, I like Repel-X. Or Wipe, but RepelX smells better than Wipe. Was given Absorbine spray in the black bottle; was NICE, but $$$

I like Pyranha because it works. It is oil based, so dust can collect on the horse (just something to be aware of), but the flip side of that is that it offers long lasting protection for the horse as well. I also spray around my manure bin to keep the flies away from that as well.

I sell Avon so I have used the SSS mix but we have some pretty persistent flies here! I also add a little garlic in the summer months to their feed. I have used Wipe, Bronco and Repel. My favorite now is Zonk It. It smells good, has Lanolin and Aloe in it too and shines them up well. It is also water repellant. It is good for dogs too!

I use Endure. I did have bronco once but yea... I sprayed it directly on a fly and it laughed at me...

Right now I'm trying out both DEO Lotion and the Eqyss Marigold spray. So far, I LOVE LOVE the DEO and haven't formed a solid opinion yet on the Marigold.

I have been using Nature's Defense. You can buy a big bottle for about $11 and make about two gallons or more with it. I add a bit of pemethrin concentrate when flies are really bad and it works as well as anything else I have tried.
