What do you think of this thoroughbred?

Can you critique this thoroughbred gelding? He is a 5 year old (born January 2001) schooling 2'9. Here is his ad

"This flashy youngster is balanced, doing his changes and schooling 2'9". His trot is large and free from the shoulder. He jumps with enthusiasm and is brave to all fences. He still needs lots of schooling on the flat but he learns quickly and is very willing. He has been to his first show and behaved gentlemanly showing a solid temperament under strange conditions."

I really, really, really like his movement, but his back looks a little long to me. He is 15.3 and still growing. He has really nice bloodlines too.

What do you think about him. Sorry, tons of pictures.

Yeah, he sounds like he has a great personality. His owner described him as super perky, always cheerful and very inquisitive. She said he was, "just the up and eager type... very charming. The kids rode him here in my jumping field and he was SUPER sweet."

He is now giving advanced beginners lessons- and he just turned five!

Any other opinions about his movement or what you can see of his conformation?

He's gorgeous IMHO. He has such beautiful movement.... I LOVE this picture!

I think he's an excellent prospect and DEFINITLY worth looking at! Had he ever raced? He looks like he's breed for performance less then racing (which I of course prefer....)

He actually was raced. He was bought off the track not too long ago. He has REALLY good racing bloodlines on both sides- he was pretty much bred for racing.

Most of those riding pictures were taken about a week and a half after he came OTT- so imagine what he would be like now! All his pictures undersaddle were of his 3rd time being ridden after coming OTT.

Anyway, I really like his movement- I think he would be a really good prospect. I am looking for a jumper and apparently he LOVES to jump.

Thanks for the responses! Anyone else?

He definitly is a good prospect, if your experienced with TBs. I think it's important to keep in mind that this is a 5 yr old...we're talking about a horse barely out of diapers . TBs are usually at their best in their teens...but if you have the time, experience, and patience, he seems perfect! Make sure if you get him though that you have a vet check done! Racing and jumping young is usually pretty hard for the joints...

Thanks for your response ureventer89. I understand how much time and effort would have to go into him, but I am willing to put that into him. To me he is the perfect age. I am looking for a 5-6 year old TB gelding. I know he's green, but I plan on working with a trainer (my riding instructor)

I don't like that he has been jumped so early, but atleast they do mostly flatwork with him, and not too much jumping. I'm also not too crazy about the fact that he's OTT either. I would most definately get a vet check if I end up deciding I like him. But I really, really like his movement and he sounds super sweet.

Keep 'em comin'

He is a cute mover, and over all gorgeous. His personality seems to be sweet and still playfullI like him.
I don`t think it is entirly true that you have to have expirience to work with a green TB,as long as the connection is there between horse and rider.I know a girl tha was a beginner when she got her ottb. She(the horse)is very well trained now,by her,and many people came into the barn willing to pay 12000+(i guess she didn`t do that anything wrong if people would pay that much). So yeah,I wouldn`t just go for experience but how you feel about the horse and the horse about you

He's great-looking. Sounds like you're thinking this out very intelligently rather than being impulsive. It's a plus that you'll have a trainer to work with you, too.
I wish you all the best!
