No, not really. It's one thing if they're way off and it's genetics. If it's an inch or so in a photo, it could just be bad angle or even uneven ground. And you can't have it all in a horse. Everyone has to sacrifice something along the way.

I like him in the picture where he's under saddle.
I don't like his neck at all though, in the picture that you posted.
That's JMO though.
This is wierd though...I was looking through an old Equine Chronicle Magazine I have, and that same under saddle picture of him was in there Lol.

Well, he's trotting UP a hill, so it's not fair to judge from this picture

But he's obviously not in show shape in that photo as compared to his photo under saddle. And I think he may be level based on the two 3/4 shots of him.

I like him. He does have a longish back but I don't see that as a fault in a WP horse. And a very thick neck. I wouldn't want to breed him to a mare that also had a thick neck. He doesn't appear to be built downhill at all to me.I think he is level or a smidge higher in front. And it wouldn't bother me even if he did come out slightly downhill.

The thick neck does come with age and lack of fitness. People are too used to seeing these super model thin necks on studs and it's just not natural.

Downhill has much more to do with the level of the 'elbow' to the 'stifle' rather than the level of withers to the croup. He is built downhill as most quarter horses and TB's are.

I would go for something else. He's got a long back and not enough hip.

Eh, nothing that makes me go "wow" personally. i'm not a fan of his neck, it just looks odd to me. not because it's thick or long, but it just looks..weird. Not sure what it is, i'd have to stare at the pic more.
