This is a Performance 12% Pelleted feed. Crude Protein 12.00Crude Fat 6.00Crude Fiber 8.00 Lysine 0.60 Methionine 0.22 Threonine 0.45 Calcium 0.75 - 1.25Phosphorus 0.55 ![]() Copper, ppm 50Zinc, ppm 150 Selenium, ppm (min) 0.60Vitamin A, IU/lb (min) 6000Vitamin D, IU/lb (min) 400Vitamin E, IU/lb (min) 80Biotin, mcg/lb (min)450 Ingredients: Dehydrated alfalfa meal, dehulled soybean meal, yeast culture, ground corn, hominy, distillers grains with solubles, wheat middlings, oat hulls, soybean hulls, rice hulls, molasses products. What company produces this? Myself I would go with a feed that is higher in fat if the horse is in any kind of work.

There are just a couple of things that I don't like: corn/homony (both corn products). Very low levels of vit E considering the addition of Se (E needed to process the Se). Also, would like to see more copper...but that is a common flaw in horse feeds. E is also generally low in feeds. However, having noted those things....given the amount of fiber, fat and protein, there are probably very low levels of corn/homony....and they are probably processed/cooked in some way. This would reduce the carbs. I personally would look for something with no corn, but if this was a convienient feed and was not at a rediculous price, I might consider it. It would depend on the horse and its level of work. |
