| Senior Member+ | Yes, windpuffs occur as a result of damage to the tendon sheath - a bad step, over-strenuous work, conformation are all some causes. If the original cause is determined and not repeated, then the windpuff itself, unless the result of some major damage, is purely cosmetic.
