What do you think of this paint foal?

Here is a photo of a paint foal this mare had 2 years ago and am wondering if anyone thinks it will be worth it to try to find out what her foal looks like this year or if I should go ahead and Adopt her and have her foal that she is pregnant with in the spring of 09.
I really like her and the foal but would really like to hear everyones opinion of both these horses.
Dams breed (Unknown) Sires breed (Draft Cross)

Thank You,
Danielle

Foal looks nice enough (neck is a bit thick, but not awful). Unfortunately I suspect most of him/her came from his/her sire. Based on what little I can see of the mare, she doesn't seem as nice. A better pic of her might help... or maybe a pic of the other foal as 2 for 2 regardless of sire would say alot.

Here is the photo of the sire of the foal in the photo (He is also the stallion that bred her this time around also).
Stallion on the left and another mare available for adoption on the right
I will do my best to find a photo of her foal this year

well i think that foal on the photo is a stunner. great size, decent confo. it does have a big neck but that could be because its an older colt developing a bit of a crest but look at the size of daddy hes chunky so hel get it from there. i think the foal could turn out well built like the dad.

What breed? The foal is beautiful and so is the stallion. Mare is broodmare, nothing spectacular but if she rides good, then she would be a good horse. If her foal is like the sire again this time it will be nice. YOu have about a 50% chance of that happening. Good Luck.

What kind of place are you trying to get these through - I assume that you mean buying them not adopting them - adoption is usually through a rescue and they shouldnt be breeding their horses.

I'm guessing they would be adopted from a somewhat wild herd? They don't look very well kept (hooves being the first indication).

Sire looks very drafty. Huge bones (almost to a fault). I'm intrigued baby turned out as well as it did. You can only hope for one like him again.

It's hard to say much from that picture. The foal is a 2 year old now and could look totally different. The mare, I can't see much of. The bit I can see doesn't impress me. If you are looking for a riding horse a broodmare can be very hard to rehab into one mentally and physically.

Also, if you get her, she's bred...so you'll have a broodmare to reform AND a new baby on the ground to raise up. From experience, that is HARD.

I'd be interested in seeing the 2 year old colt. His daddy is pretty handsome.
