What do you buy...?

What do you buy the horse that has everything?

Every Christmas, I buy my horses something. It's not so much for them, as for me getting new things. Haha. Last winter Redie got a new Stubben saddle. Shadow and Oreo got new bridles. This year, Shadow and Oreo are getting new leather halters... but Redie already has one. So I don't know what to get her, she has everything

Any ideas?

Also, I have a penpal who lives in Ontario. She doesn't own a horse, she used to lease, but stopped leasing. Now she's just riding a horse. I have no idea what to get her! I wanted to get her old lease name plates, but can't now - she's not leasing her anymore. She has everything, but she wants a leather halter - I can't afford it! LOL. Any ideas for that too?

Thanks!

Hmm.. new blanket, polo wraps, saddle pad (for the horse)? That's a tough one! Or you could always put that money towards buying ME somehting. Only kidding, I wish I could afford to buy my horse something nice like that each christmas.

For your friend, maybe a gift certificate to a tack shop (online)? Or maybe like some horse jewelry, or some other gifty thing like that?

Okay, I'm sorry, being uncreative here!

How about an indian/buffalo leather halter? She must know l/h are expensive, so A) the thought counts and b) if a leasee is hard on it, that's kind of okay? What about a bag for: helmet, bridle, saddle... not everybody bothers to get them.

An expensive halter is a bit ridiculous to think of for her. One, she does not own her own horse nor lease one. Why does she need her own halter at all? Two, you have no idea what size she needs. She is only riding this horse right now. Doesn't seem to be long term at all. The next horse she rides, leases, owns, could require a completely different size.

Dawn & CJ - That's what I'm thinking. Too expensive and it 'aint gonna happen. But she keeps bugging me for one (she's only like 16, so of course she thinks I'm made out of money I think. Even though she knows I'm just a University student!). Then she wanted a dressage saddle pad made from some company I haven't heard of that's like $100 for a saddle pad! Not going to happen! LOL.

Anyways, so far I got her a little tote bag with horses on it and it's rather cute Just wanted to get her something else small because she said she's buying Redie something made out of leather. No idea what though. So I wanted to get her something else.

As for Redie... hmm... new saddle pad? Sheepskin saddle pad? Oooooh Hehe, I like the way your thinking Kind of expensive, but it'll be her personal one

Any other ideas would be great!

Paint_luver: I haven't sent out my Xmas cards yet, and I was actually considering sending like you, Minnie_mouse and Moni a little present cause I think you guys are awesome But we'll see what money permits! LOL.

You could get her a nice little inexpensive grooming kit and you could but these items inside the tote bag - then next time she leases she will have a nice new kit

for your horse what about those nice Equilibrium Stretch & Flex Boots - I love these for flat work
