| Senior Member+ | what do yall this of this mare in foal!
What do yall think of this mare for my mom?! All mom needs is a trail horse, that she can ride every once in a while, maybe once or twice a week, nothing big. The reason I'm looking at mares in foal, is that we were looking at getting a foal anyways, so if we can find a good deal on a mare that is suitable for mom, and in foal, we would get both!..anyways..here is her picture.. ![]() Ora Mira Located in Kamloops,British Columbia Foal June 1996 Stands 16.2 Dutch Warmblodd Bay Reg. with CWHBA Trail horse/Broodmare $5500 US Memo:1996 Dutch WB broodmare by Zodiak. Registered and approved to breed with Canadian Warmblood. In foal to grand prix jumper and keur stallion Iroko for 2005. Successful broodmare foals easily. Throws big foals with good bone and athletic ability. This mare has fabulous movement and a powerful jump. Suitable for breeding and light trail riding pasture sound. Asking $6500 CAN in foal to Iroko pay her off with one foal!!!

I think it sounds fabulous then you could get a nice baby as well. I would have them send you more pictures and send you pictures of the stud though. It does sound like a good deal though. I would find out why they have her down as trail/broodmare. Does she do anything else or was she injured or have a problem that she can not do anything difficult, or is that just all that she has been used for.

| Senior Member+ | Sounds like she may have an old injury, as they are saying she would be a nice trail horse. As long as she is sound for what you want to do with her, she sounds like a good deal and very pretty |

I'm going to see what mom thinks of her, and if she likes her, then im going to find out more about WHY she is only suitable for light riding. So far, she sounds perfect for my momma tho!! Her only requirements are that the horse is over 16.0(preferablyt 16.1,16.2),sound to light riding, and isnt wild! Do you know anything bout bring a horse from canada to the united states?

| Junior Member | Getting a horse
Crazi4Horses, i would like to say,the horse is beautiful and to also let you know how important it is to pre vet check her to make sure she doesn't come up lame. Also most important is to go see the horse in person, and to make sure this horse will like your mom and yourself, because like people horses also will pick who they like and dislike. I have been around horses many years and worked around them and had seen people purchase a horse like i have and after having them, the horse and them just don't click. I have purchased a horse i thought and was told was fantastic and a gentle horse and turned out total opposite. If your mom just wants a gentle laid back horse to ride once in awhile on a trail, then make sure for the money you will get exactly that.I found with being around many breeds of horses that the pure quarter horse is the best at a docile temperment. My mare is what i like to call a wind up horse, i can leave her in a stall for days or not ride her a whole year, and she still is well behaved and always is good on trails and in show rings.I can put a 2 year old on her and trust her to take that child out by herself without any problems. You will also need a coggins and health certificate to cross state lines, but it is easy to do that, just get all the right stuff in place first, and you and your mom will be happy. Good-Luck on your purchase. |

I'm just curious as to why you are buying such an expensive well bred horse for just a trail horse? She sure is purty, but I know if I was looking for a trail horse, I would not look at such an expensive mare. There are plenty of amazing, bombproof trail horses for sale for much cheaper, also in foal. Are you planning on selling or keeping the foal? Also I would think when they say suitable for light trail riding and pasture sound the ymean she has an old injury that proves her not suitable for much riding, if any. Mares like that tend to sell as broodmares only. I would keep looking but that is just me |

she looks really gorgeous! what are u planning on doing with the foal? if u are looking for just a trailhorse (meaning the foal) i would notsuggest a really well bred warmblood, however if u wanna dressage/ show jump/ event, then i think that wouldbe great!
