Hmm...What kind of things could have caused it?

He has a good amount of knee action, but not nearly as much as he used to. I will have to get a video of him sometime soon. =] (Now that I think about it, I might have one from a few days ago. I'll have to go and look)

Genearlly it's caused by a section of hoof wall that is either left longer when trimmed or isn't worn down as fast. This can be because of the trim or because of the action of the horse.

Oooh. That makes sense. I am inclined to think it is because it wasn't worn down as fast. I hope it won't cause any long-term damage. I will have to make sure I really keep an eye on his feet and make sure he is getting trimmed regularly. The instructor I work with told me that the girl who is leasing him wants to buy him, so we shall see.
