What do I look for in rice bran

I picked up a bag of pelleted rice bran today, Equis brand. I remember something in previous threads to make sure it had added calcium so it was balanced. I can't remember anymore than that. How do I tell if it is a good one? Here is the label info:

Protein not less than 12.0%
Fat not less than 12.0%
Fiber not more than 13.0%
calcium not less than 1.25% and not more than 1.75%
Phosphorus not less than 1.4%
magnesium not less than 1.0%
Ash not more than 11.0%

Ingredients

Rice bran, calcium carbonate, Magnesium carbonate, propionic acid, acetic acid, sorbic acid, benzoic acid, silicon dioxide.

How does it add up?

Thanks!

No, it is Equis brand, made by Kropf/CHS Nutrition LLC, made in Oregon.

This is a balanced product. The Ca/P ratio is close to 1:1...so the imbalance has been addressed. If it were not balanced, there would not be any calcium listed in the ingredients. The issue that I see is that 12% fat is rather low for rice bran....generally it is not less than 15% and more often around 20%. This may make a difference in how well it works for weight gain...if that is what you are looking for. But, if it is not a main concern, then it is fine for other purposes. I'm guessing that compared to 20%=~1500 cal/lb that 12%=~1200 cal/lb. But that is just an estimate.

The other thing to look for is that it is stabilized. This means that it is somehow "preserved". Many pelleted forms of rice bran are heated in a shpecial way to hlep preserve it. This also has several "natural" perseratives added to it (the acids).
