What colour is my filly??

Hi, Just had a filly. Shes a pintabian. Shes a light chocolate brown, with a hint of silver or gray. She has a fairly pronounced black line down her spine. Her legs are mostly silvery. Any Help!!

Pics would help, but it definitly sounds like she's a grey. Most greys are born brown or bay with grey around their eyes or legs and turn grey with age

Pictures will help for sure, but she really sounds like a bay. The silvery legs will be black when the silver sheds out. The stripe down her back is called countershading. Her "light chocolate brown, with a hint of silver or gray" body color likely means she'll be a darker bay, her final shade is up in the air at the moment.

I looked at your pictures in your file. I would say she is bay now, but if one parent (the daddy?) was gray, she might gray out. Also, all her little stripes will streighten out in a few days. They are just fur lines, not color.

What color was daddy?

Looking at momma in the back ground, I'd say she is a Bay pinto.

So baby is more likely a bay herself.,....depending on daddy's coloration. Looks like a bay baby....

and not to get to critical, but what is up with her front feet....momma's?
