What color saddle for bay horse

I don't know if this is the proper forum but I need help. I am totally new to the western division. I have got a very dark bay mare that is now ready to show. She has no white on her but she does have a very pretty head and expression. My question, what color western tack should I be looking at? I seen alot of light oil tack in the ring but I've seen alot of dark tack on the dark horses, what would be best for a beginner horse and rider team like me?

If she's a QH or some other stock type breed light oil is the only way to go. I don't know what's in vogue with Arabs, Morgans, etc.

Personally I hate the light oil and I'll be happy when the trend is over but right now you'll stick out like a sore thumb in any other color tack.

Lite oil is "IN" and has been for quite a long time (surprisingly) I don't foresee dark oil making a comeback in AQHA/APHA anytime soon -- heck it's even slowly dwindling out of the Arab circuit!

I own multiple lite oil saddles (and ultra-lite) and 1 black show saddle, which was ONLY used on my black gelding (who also looked stunning in ultra-ultra-lite (near white) show saddle.

Stay with what's in, go lite oil tack

I agree, you really can't go wrong with light oil. I show in a dark oil, a) because we cant afford to buy a new show saddle and b) because I thought it'd be cool to be unique, in 4-H. I don't know what type of showing you will be doing, but sometimes unique is not the best way.

Light oil, if you have a dark saddle I think it clashes with your dark bay horse. LOL

I love the dark oil saddles, and personally do not care for the light oils. In the morgans and arabs, (not sure about saddlebreds) dark oil is the way to go. Rarely do you see light oil, and when you do it sticks out like a sore thumb.
