Yeah they do, but not to often. They usually deal with about 25- 30 different horses through a week and I think three times out of the last year thay have called three of the horses silver bay instead of red chocolate. I've always noticed that the ones they called silver bays were just a tad bit darker then the red chocolates, but there was still a noticable difference.
I don't hardly see the horses papers though so I don't know what there registered colors are. I just always thought there was a difference. But hey I'm always up to learn something new!

Gut is telling me flaxen chestnut... but the dapples are really odd for that color. Any clue on her parentage?

I have her pedigree, but like I said, her dam looks the same color as the photo I posted, and her sire's name is silver willie and I thought it was silver dapple, but I was told her sire was chocolate palomino.
Maybe Munodi's sire is the one that is choc. pally
I have her full pedigree but not all of them have the color of the horse on it

IC. Wow. This may be a case for testing. Only test you would really need would be extension. If ee you might want to test for cream, but if E_ you'll know she's silver.

All too often bay silvers are mistaken for chocolate palominos in the mini world soo... lol.

LOL, see, I don't even try to guess with pony/mini's. They seem to write their own rules part of the time, LOL.

WOW! That 1st pic is huge! I have dial-up so I finally gave up on it.
From the pics I saw though... definately both are Silver Bays.

They don't have black points... more of a darker brown, chocolately gray color. I can see the mare's points are like that. It's hard to tell with all of the hair, but I do see it.

My friend bought a mini colt when he was 6 months old. We thought he was a chestnut/white pinto. Noticed a few months later when he started shedding that his legs were a bit darker and kind of chocolaty. Both of us were like "I've never seen a chestnut like that before..." but just thought it was some strange marking. One day I was checking out a mini ranch's website down the street from us and one of their stud's was the exact same color! They described him as a Silver Bay. I had never heard of it before, so looked it up and had to run over and tell my friend.
