Question What causes white hairs in black legs????

I don't know if this is the right category. But can anyone help tell me what is causing this?????

I have a colt that is 9 months old now. He was born bay with a strange colored tail black with white threw it. By his hooves, it looked like a chocolate brown instead of black. As he grew and shed he has these white hairs mixed in with the black on all of his legs.
Then at 7 months here is what his legs look like.
He has a light muzzle. (the vet noted it as silver on his coggins). His mane and tail have silver and white through it. I had his Coat color tested by UC DAVIS and they said he was EeAa, with no silver dilute. Here is a picture of his tail.

All bay babies are born with beige/blonde socks...they will shed off and leave the black behind No worries

Well, all I can say is WHAT an absolutely beautiful foal I love his coloration. I wouldn't be worried about it...I think it's really neat!

How long does it take to lose that coloration. He is shedding his winter coat and the colors are staying. He is 9 months old now.

No both parents are bays. Dad is an extremely dark bay that had a flaxen dam. (he is supposed to carry the gene?????)
Dam is a regular bay, but changes colors during the year and she has some white in her legs, but none like his. He also has a 1/2 sibling that has the white in the legs, but again not as much. I have concluded it is coming from the Dam side.

Sabino.

That can cause "wild" white hairs

Exactly what I was thinking.

My sister's horse has the Sabino gene. She has white hairs randomly throughout her body. Here is what her flanks look like:

He doesn't have the white hairs in the red part of his body. He has a small white snip. I have had 3 horses with white specs in their coats. The white is usually on the body, not the extemities. Those horses are related to this colt through the dam's dad. He is so differently marked.!!!!!!!
