| Full Member | putting your horse in a protectie bubble till you enter the show ring to keep those lovely stains off them haha i wish lots of "elbow grase" as peekaboo says, bathing the day before along with a nice good brushing make sure your brushes are clean. picking out the stall every so ofter to keep off stains and such, because we all know that after a nice bath, all our white horses like to have a nice roll, |

| Senior Member+ | I start preparing the horse about 3 months before the first show. This is when they are just coming off of a spell. Feed is increased with extra shiny foods like linseed, copra and sunflower seeds in it. Daily grooming and exercise. The week before the show they get a good clipping and mane pull. The day before they are bathed, dried and rugged up. Plaits are done ready for rolling the next morning. Leg wraps go on too. Sard wonder soap has been recommended to me for stain removal. I use good old fashioned washing blue to bring out the sparkle. Morning of the show it is roll the plaits, plait the tail, groom, paint the feet and wash off any marks that have happened overnight. Most of it is planning and elbow grease. The rider is groomed as well. All clothing is checked a week before to ensure fit and suitability. 2 cloths are carried to the marshalling area, 1 for rider and 1 for horse. Don't like the dusty look. I turn a filthy red flea bitten grey into a shiny grey that is admired.
