the app gelding that worked with had something like that. The vet thought that it might have been staph so she took scrapings to test. It turned out to be some kind of funky fungal infection. we had to scrub his legs and pick all the scabs off every day (ewwww) to be able to treat the skin underneath but it went away after about a week or so of doing that. Untill the lab results came back he was on 20ccs of pen 2x aday too. Poor boy. He took it like a champ though, never even had to put his halter on for the shots.
