| Senior Member+ | Dependiong on how far along she is (IF she is truly in foal) she can possibly be aborted (shot or 'pinched'). It is amazing how so many think that it's OK to run weanling, yearling and 2 y/o fillies and ungelded colts together. I have to admit that years ago I let my first stallion (colt at the time) run with all the horses and he had his first foal just before he turned 2 (In this case it wasn't a problem as they were mature mares and I had them to breed to him anyway - I just figured later.) Check with your states laws - the colt owner may be responsible for your costs involving the up coming foal. I'ved never had a mini but I understand that they may have more 'issues' with foaling especially when very young which she will be when foaling. A good diet is definately in order to ensure that she remails a healthy growing baby while she growing her baby - think about a pre-teen girl being pregnant. |

I understand that my question was why not? I mean is there reasons based on reserch? Reasons based reserch about health? Or reasons based on because you say so?
