Thumbs up What about this guy??

He has a nice head and neck. I don't know how tall he is though. He is only about 75 miles from me. For Dolly, maybe.

From just the picture you posted, he has nice head/chest/neck structure but I don't care for the color personally. I do think that him n Dolly would have a cute baby though! He's looks worth checking out!

My yearling's father was a frame overo...

Never found one that I loved until right now. I don't know what your mare looks like, but I love the look of this stud.

Only thing that I saw that I don't think that I like is that it looks like his front legs aren't really straight... looks like they kinda curve in together, and are closer at bottom than the top.

This might be how all horses are (just never noticed it before now) or how he's standing... but I'd think that he might have a tendancy to knock his front feet together, depending on what he's used for.

Smile

I checked out their website and found more photos of him and I think he is a nice stallion. I would go see him and check him out more if you like him.

There is no color guarantee so that is something to also be considered...just what are Breeding stock Paints going for in your area if the foal comes out with no pattern?
What are his foals selling for and what sort of market and demand are there for them in your area? It helps to have a ready market out there if at all possible!
Also what APHA programs are this stallions foals eligible for...like Futurities, and other award programs?

She said that his first foals are due in the spring. This is what else she said. I got more pictures too.

Thanks for the compliments on Skeeter. He's a good boy, with a great disposition! Being an overo, he's not homozygous, but his color pattern should produce about 70-80% color!
Although APHA now has a new rule regarding registration, it's called "One Paint Parent" so if we breed Skeeter to a QH or TB and happen to get a solid, the foal can still be registered as breeding stock paint. I don't agree with the new rule and voted against it the year before, but that's politics for you.
Skeeter should mature to 15.2. He's 15 hands now and 15.2 at his hip. His sire is 15.2+ and his dam was 15.1. His grandsire is 16 hands, so the potential to be larger is there.
Skeeter's long neck is one of his best qualities, it's very clean in the throatlatch and he's not cresty at all. If I get a few bookings, I will put him in Breeder's Trust. I have until 3/31 to enroll him since it's his first year standing. The payouts are really good right now, about $20/point.

I don't mind his color. I just wonder how much of I would get on a Dolly foal. The rules have changed in the APHA book now about breeding stock horses.

Well....just how receptive will she be to having a AQHA mare bred to her stallion then?
Sound to me like she prefers paints only...which I think is rather silly....where does she thinks the APHA came from?
