Western Saddle Pads and Blankets- What do you use?

Just curious what you all use.
Saddle Blanket only
Saddle Pad only
Saddle Blanket and Saddle Pad together

I have lots of saddle pads...and not too many saddle blankets. I tend to just use a pad. No specific reason.
Do you personally see benefits of using just a pad? Just a blanket? Both?

Just incase some flip flop what they call the two. Here's what I call each of them.
Saddle Pad: the thicker one
Saddle Blanket: the thinner one

I've only used my western saddle once, with just a pad. I personally am not a big fan of how thick and immobile/stiff they are! I'm curious to see what other people say...

When I bought my tack, the store recommended that I buy a nice, thick saddle pad, and a matching blanket to put UNDER the pad. Blanket is thin and easy to wash, pad doesn't get sweaty and dirty.

I typically just use a pad, unless it's super ugly then I put a blanket over it.

I just use a pad but it slips everywhere and is a pain to keep on. I'm thinking about getting a 32 by 64" blanket and doubling it over. I've had it with that stupid pad!!

Cool

I have riden western for almost 10 years.
I found that in the spring and summer it is of more use to use
a simple saddle blanket. then in the fall and winter it is better to use
a thick saddle pad, and in shows too.
I don't know what yall prefer, but I myself mainly use a thin saddle pad.
