western bit question.

I was wonderin this today b/c someone told me this was true is it? well anywase my friend said that u can ride a horse over 5 in western in a snaffle if u use 1 hand. But if your horse is under 5, u can ride in a snaffle and use 2 hands. IS THIS TRUE?

Yes, in western pleasure it is. If your horse is under 5 you can show in a snaffle 2 handed, curb one handed, or a bosal 2 handed but if its over 5 only a curb can be used.
