Well - I got another stallion! (did I even NEED another one?!)

Not that I REALLY needed another one, but I have always loved this guy and am thrilled that we get to stand him now.

Umrigar is a 16hh chestnut and white sabino Thoroughbred stallion, by Rahy out of Jabot (Bold Ruler / Prince John lines)

Rahy is the sire of Fantastic Light (winner of 8.5 million and Horse of the Year in Europe), Serena's Song (winner of 3.3 million - Hall of Fame) and Noverre (winner of 1.5 million and Champion 3 year old miler in England)

Umrigar's pedigree is pure European turf, at 1+ miles in length, perfect for those looking for a fabulous sound, tough and durable sire for their event and show prospects.

Umrigar was a winner of $86,000.00 in allowance and stakes races and will be inspected this fall for his CSHA approval (Bronze Premium).

Umrigar is a beautifully balanced stallion, with excellent conformation, athletic movement and that eye catching and unique colour to add the final "icing" on the cake!

Pictures are up on my website -

http://www.angelfire.com/on3/TrueColoursFarm/stallions.html

and Umrigar will be available both Live Cover and AI for the remainder of the 2005 season as well as 2006.

Reduced bookings will be available for the remainder of 2005 and early booking discounts will also be taken for the 2006 breeding season.

Listed with both the AQHA and the APHA as well.

Drafty - he arrives on July 1st, so no - havent done anything with him yet, but for the CSHA inspection, I believe that he will need to jump through a triple combination chute, with an oxer coming out, so I will need to get him fitted up and strong to have a good showing there!

He's a 12 year old and raced last as a 7 year old, so he's been off for 5 years, so without making him body or leg sore, we need to get him brought back again and schooled so he knows what we are asking of him! And the fact that he has never jumped before either, we will need to start everything from the very beginning with him (poor guy - I think he thought the work was all behind him now! )

Spotty was sold to a lady in Colorado and had a hind leg shattered in a breeding accident. I felt just awful ... Spotty was the nicest stallion in the world and so easy to handle and breed with ...

And if you mean Puchilingui - he is still alive and well at his home farm in Michigan
There were more American breedings to him than Canadian ones, so it made no sense at all to bring him up here, to have the American mare owners need Coggins and Export Papers and extra costs to ship mares here, when it was quicker, easier and cheaper to simply send them to Michigan instead. So - I am still promoting him and his owner is handling the AI and Live Cover breedings which makes the most sense of all ...

Thanks everyone and yes - I am VERY proud of what I have accomplished!

I not only have some beautiful stallions that their owners have entrusted to me, but also some simply fabulous mares that are being bred to them this year and next!

Now - I not only have my own foals to look forward to next year, but also some fabulous foals from a lot of Mare Owners that I can be "Auntie" to as well!
Breeding can be a lot of fun and very gratifying and now that the weather is co-operating and the mares are starting to co-operate even better, yes, it is very rewarding and lots of fun!

And you know - funny stories abound too ... GG has taken a fancy to mounting the phantom mare - *******e - on the side. Why - who the heck knows but he's happy that way, we collect him just fine and then he has to figure out how to get off the thing once he's done ...
When he's done, he goes limp and just kind of hangs there (like having a cigarette afterwards, I guess ... )
Once I convince him that he HAS to get down, he is content to just stand there and relish the moment, not wanting to leave *******e, the current love of his life (who is starting to look rather tattered and frayed and showing her age, if the truth be known ... ) And he doesnt seem to mind that *******e is two timing him - that she allows other stallions up on her as well. None of this seems to matter to him at all ...

The other day during a collection, he got right into his job and blew the liner right out of the AV. Aggghhh!!! (I mean - liking your job and being enthusiastic is ONE thing ... having the fruits of your labour dribble out on the ground as you are running like mad back to the lab is quite another ... )

Always a laugh a minute ... always something funny to chuckle about ... I think I'd be bored to tears doing anything else!
