Unhappy we lost the foal!

well you all know that i have a Paint mare by the name of Ravin Bout Raven aka. Raven. here is a pic of her:

well she was due in feb(that's what we were told) but as the days went on there was no foal to be seen yet. well yesterday when i came home from school i saw that my mom was home and she was supposed to be meeting me in anderson whenever i left the house. i had some feed in the back of my car that i had to take to the barn and as i drove around there i saw my vet's truck sitting outside our tack room of the barn. when i got out my aunt came out and had this sad look on her face. at first i thought that something was wrong with Teddy b/c he is getting older. well it wasn't. they said earlier that day Raven had started giving birth. she was having some complications and half of the foal was hanging out of her and the other half still inside. they said that once they pulled the baby out that they finally realized that it was HUGE!!! it was a filly, which was exactly what i was wanting, and they said it was all white with a little brown on her head. they said she was absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! it really upset me b/c i was really looking forward to having another baby around here to raise. i never got to actually see the foal before they barried her. oh well, that's mother nature. i just posted this b/c a few people wanted me to let them know how things went with the foal. oh and Raven is doing ok. her placenta was still inside her so we had to put some fluids in her that had some antibiodics and some other kind of thing to help push the placenta out. her back legs are real wobbly and she keeps kind of waddling in the back end. my vet said that it was from the baby putting so much weight on her back legs from hanging out. thanks a lot for reading this.
