We bought a PMU mare that was going to be slaughtered and we saved her, it feels great though.

OMG!!!! i love red ranger!... do you live in bainbridge!(or near there) we rescued sleepy from a guy named nikerson and he does sell for meat! omg!.. my uncle (and montana lol) live in gilbertsville... were in the oneonta/ bainbridge/ rockdale area.. actually my uncle owns the rockdale hotel!

That's awesome. I am always pretty amazed when I hear of a sound, healthy horse going for meat. Nice to know that one less is, and you're giving her a good life.
My horse was from an auction, and it stuns me to know that such an awesome animal could have ended up as dog poop.

i live near binghamton it was a long drive, the guy we bought the horse from was don nickerson a horse meat dealer person. my horse came from the unadilla auction. the horse is my sisters and will be trained for western pleasure.i cant wait untill friday! we cant handle the horse for 2 weeks because she has got to be quarintened. we went up there and my mom was like i wish i owned land so i could buy them all, i told her not all of them can be saved. it was so cute tho the mans daughter told us the mare was leading a blind draft horse around.

Lol how do you people do this? It is amazing how you are able to just go out and randomly buy a horse.

I wish I had space like that. It is not as much a money issue for me as it is one of space.

o cool! i was going to buy a standard bred from there but he wasnt in the meat pen (you know the barn on the hill?) i go to the unadilla auction almost every time they have it!

we put her in the barn so she wouldnt get kicked because there was going to be 30 more horses comeing to go. we board our horses and now we olny have 2 one for me and one for my sister.
