| We finally got someone on him without him flipping out! My neighbors got a little shetland pony last fall that was very very pushy and was a kicker, anytime you tryed to put someone on him he would buck and everybody would back away and not try again. Well we left him alone all winter and then last week i started working with him again and i noticed his manners were VERY impressive!
So today i lunged him and did alot of ground work with him and then i decided "this pony needs a rider!" so i got the owners permission and my little 8 year old sister got her helmet and stuff. I told her to act like he was any other pony and not be nervous at all...she did that and WALA he let her right on!
He did go on 3 seperate bucking sprees while i was leading him but my lil sis stayed on fine and everything, so then i just clipped lead ropes to his halter and my sis rode him around by herself (he has never not been lead because he was just used for pony rides)
Anyways she was trying to get him to trot and he started cantering and then bucking and he managed to drop lil Natty, she caught him and tryed to jump back on but he started bucking again and kicking, so i grabbed his head and threw her back up and he STOPPED..he just gave up and then she rode him fro 20 minates and he didnt act up again!! So we finally won and now He is on his way to being safe!!! |
