Waterford Horse Abuse Case

I found this article in our newspaper yesterday.. it was FRONT PAGE and it pretty much broke my heart

How sad. How discussting. How stupid. I'll never understand how people can allow these things to happen to horses that they see everyday. I'll never understand why the people that have the legal authority to do something, can walk away from these situations and not feel guilty themselves for not doing something until the situation is this bad. Why do horses have to die or be near death before they are removed. I understand that there are laws and rules that they must follow but it certainly seems there is a desperate need for change.

Due to financial strain? ***!!! Seriously? Even when I didn't have a lot I ate ramen noodles or nothing but my horses always had at least a months supply of back up grain and two months of hay. People make me sick.

My dad who lives in Waterford stopped by the Humane Society the other day and all the remaining horses are expected to make a full recovery. So that's some good news.
