Washing mare's teats?

What should you use to wash in between a mare's teats? Kismet has nasty black gunky stuff there. I got some of it off with a baby wipe but I would like to get it all off. It can't be too comfortable having it there for her.

I use a bucket of warm water with just a little bit of shampoo and a sponge.

baby shampoo works great...but you can also use baby oil. its can be used to clean teats and sheaths.

you can also use mineral oil, or just your horse shampoo when you give her a bath

I just use horse shampoo 2-3 times weekly (my mare loves to get dirty)

I've always just washed with soap/water when giving a bath, or if it's really stuck on there--I'll take out the baby or mineral oil. Some mares don't like it, so just be careful.

me too....only when it gets real bad though......I usually check my girls everytime I groom them and just wipe 'em out with a baby wipe or a washcloth and water....and that usually does the trick
