WANTED: older western saddle...looks not important, safety/condition VERY important.

*I have just under $200.00 to spend--on saddle AND shipping--and I know it's a long shot but I decided to post anyhow. You never know. (FYI shipping to Canada thru' USPS is roughly $40.00 so unless you are willing to part with a saddle for under $160.00 please don't post here. My budget for tack is fixed and I won't be able to come up with any more than this amount.)

I am searching for an older western saddle which must be:

made of real leather
in safe, usable shape (I'm not worried about dust, dirt or scuffs)
a 16"+ seat
free of cracked leather/dry rot/holes
solid with undamaged tree

So go through that tack shed and drag out the old ranch saddles that haven't seen the light of day in ten years! Please post your asking price, the size of the bars, a photo and details on the condition of your saddle.

Thanks!

I'll have to check the seat size but I may have what you are looking for.

Thanks PaintedPNH, I look forward to hearing more.

Thanks Faroutfax, are you open to offers on it to take into account shipping?

I'm pretty firm on the price as I'm just trying to get back the money I paid for it. But I can include a saddle pad if you decide on it If you can PM me your postal code/address I can get a rough quote on shipping just so we know how much it is a factor

Back on the prowl for a good ol' saddle, see requirements in post #1. I only have $200.00 US to spend, sorry!

**Really prefer old ranch type, the larger the skirt the better. It's for a HUGE horse and the smaller saddles look a bit silly on him. But I will consider ANY!**

I did a search to a random address in Alberta (praries)(T5R 5H4) and it came to about $30 for shipping. The closer you are to Southern Ontario the cheaper it will be of course. So including shipping it should come to just about $200 US

Faroutfax, thanks for checking that out. Unfortunately my husband's horse is "super wide" too...if Full QH bars didn't work for your super wide beast, they likely won't work for him. I guess I need to do some more investigation and find out what he needs. Thanks muchly though!

NUDGE!

My husband now apparently has a preference...before it was "whatever, just find one that fits me and the horse"...now he PREFERS ranch-style with a large square skirt (but I will still consider ANY). If the saddle is truly "perfect" for him I will see what I can do about getting a few more dollars in my PayPal account...so feel free to post your saddles up to $250.00 price range.

Thanks!
