Since he is an OTTB maybe there is a retirement rescue for OTTB's around you? I don't think retirement places adopt the horses out so he might be able to be a pasture ornament.

dead serious. got the tape from the libary for my mom who is just getting back into horses after 15yrs off. she called miffed. I thought she miss heard him but nope. there are other references in there about females becoming something other than decent grooms. I turned it off

I didn't want to break the tv by punching him in the face.

my horse does the same thing. When I saddle him up I have to lunge him before even thinking of getting in the saddle. If I dont lunge him he bucks, pigroots and bolts for the nearest fences. but after he has wasted all of his energy he is a little angel I can even ride him on a long rein. So if i was you i would lumge him before getting on and dont feed him feed that are for energy, and i would feed alot of hay!
I have never come of even when my horse is bucking underneath me and I feel as if i dont have any control but i just ride him out of it.
Alll my horse is doing is wasting his excited energy.. maybe your is to.
I am also a 14yr old rider.. who owns 2 horses

It sounds like he's doing better, and who knows what is it; the move, the lunging, the hay, something else...but just because he's being better, don't get complacent! You know he has it in him if he wants to do it, so be sure there is somebody at the barn with you while you ride him!
