Vulva Swelling?

At what point of pregnancy does the Vulva start to swell or get puffy?

I've never seen any swelling or puffyness during the pregnancy.

The vulva elongates when they are nearing foaling, but it doesn't get 'puffy'.

Sure it gets puffy. Barbie has been swollen and loose for a couple weeks already and she isn't due for another month. Maybe a week before it starts to get "puffy" on some mares...not all I guess. In my experience if it is swollen almost even with their butt they usually go within 48 hours.

I thought I had seen pictures somewhere but couldn't find them.

What about the "milk veins". My mare has developed these. They each fill my hand when I cup them. Do mares that are NOT pregnant get these?

I'll let you know how long mine is. My mare's just got puffy today, she's also jumpy and toutchy ( very unusual for her). Lots of foal movement and I felt a good solid kick when I felt for just a few seconds, lol. I'll be camping in the barn tonight and every night till she foals. She caught me unaware last time and I missed it.
