Question Voice for horses

I don't know if this should go in this section, horse chat or off topic, if it doesn't belong here then you can move it

Okay, for those of you in the Michigan/Ohio area you've probably heard of "Voice for Horses Network" It's a rescue/adoption center.
I've been dying to adopt a horse from them, and have had my eyes on a few.
But they're not giving me the time of day, I could give one of these horses a GREAT home! I have a ton of time on my hands, endless energy and a heart full of love ready to be spilled on a horse
I don't know if they're ignoring me or if they're just busy
I've emailed and called NUMEROUS times in the last two months and I don't know what to do.....
I really want to adopt one of their horses,I'm going to send in a adoption application and write a letter and call a couple more times. But I don't think they're taking me seriously because I'm 16.
What should I do? I may not be an adult but I'm just as serious, and I have a lot more time that an adult probably would, I only go into work once a week, and am home-schooled.

Advice? Has anyone else adopted from them?

What conditions would you have the horse livign in? Do you have a letter from your parents stating that they will support the horse finacially if you cannot? Do you know how to properly feed the horse, and are you prepared for all the bills that come with a horse? What vet, ferrier, trainer, ect will you use? How much horse experience do you have? Do you have all the appropriate tack?

These are questions that are likely to be asked, and if you send that information in with your requests, and pictures of your property on which the horse will be kept, and explain what you will plan on feeding the horse (make sure you find out what the horse is getting now so it is not changed over cold-turkey).

Have your parents contact them.
I am guessing you have to be atleast 18 to adopt

Hehe good advice I'll have my mom put in a letter. I'm just used to letting people know I'm 16 when I go to look at a horse, so they're aware the horse will be mine... like so they know that it's a kid looking but that I'm somewhat aware of what I'm doing

Thank you both I feel kinda silly now hehe... guess that's what HGS is for, people like me who need lots of help

Best wishes on your quest for horse ownership. When I have looked on resue sites, all of them seem to state that you must be over 18 to adopt. Sounds like that's the backup you need to be taken seriously, is your parents to be involved, as they would be the people doing the adopting.
