Question Vacuuming...

Just another thing Ive never heard of....lol
I dont think it has quite made its way over to New Zealand yet....If it has, I missed the memo

So I kinda get the idea of what it is from a couple threads Ive seen on here, It basically saves time by sucking up all the dirt, dandruff and loose hairs, Right?

So some people buy the proper horse vacs, But Ive read that a couple people use shop vacs.
Do these Vaccums need to be plugged into a power point? Or are they kinda rechargable?

It sounds like a really good idea!
I want one, But will probably just end up with a shop vac type one.
Does it matter if it doesnt have the horse attachment?
It will still work, right? Just maybe take longer because the nozel thing isnt as wide, Is that right?

Please help, I feel left out of the Grooming Gizmo Circle

Thanks

I'm not sure what kind of vacuum we have at our barn but boy is it helpful. We just do blow suck blow and it gets our guys pretty clean, it's really helpful in the winter if its a little chilly to bathe or if your in a hurry before a show!

Thanks guys!

Cause I would have no where to plug it in at my new place

Do you use something like this?
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living...-158505115.htm

How do you use it on a horse? Is there anything in particular that you do?

Ive looked into them over here,But no one has ever heard of it before, So doesnt stock them.
Are there any cheap decent ones? Cause with the exchange rates, and the postage, i dont want a super expensive one.

If your horse is not oily, just dusty an ordinary household vacuum will do wonders and its amazing how quickly they get used to it, especially if its cold

After seeing these in action on a recent trip to USA, I have been thinking about getting one myself...but I dont think anyone stocks them here in Australia...what are the most popular brands used? The ones I saw (and I didnt think to look at the make) had a curry comb and other attachments, and the horses looked like they were pretty happy having it done.

Maybe someone would ship an international order?

At the barn i work at we just have an every day wet/dry shop vac that hangs on the walls and works great-saves a lot of time in grooming and does a great job. At school we have a central vac..so you dont need to buy a specialized horse vacuum, just go with a cheaper regular shop vac..although I would stick to the smaller ones that dont have too much suction.
