USPC Championships Results

Well last week I went to USPC championships/festival in Kentucky for junior C quiz and guess what I acually did fairly decently.

I had the second highest score in the competition and the organized came up to me afterwords and congratualted me and told me that if I was one year older I would have been selected for the North American Quiz exchange, up in Canada this fall. He told me they had even thought of bending the rules for me, between my sportsmanship ( long story) and my scores. UGGGG it would have been so cool to go.

My team finished 6th and we had a blast! Other then the fact that I got food poisioning the first day and was wicked sick the whole time, and got basicly no sleep.

Oh well it was fun, and makes me feel more confident before my C2 and HB in October. Now I just have to master jumping banks and other xc obstacals with two reins!

Wow! That's really good!!!

I didn't know that anyone else from HGS was going to champs. I posted a thread about it, but no one replied. Did you stay for the festival clinic too, or come home after the competition?

Good luck on your C-2/HB. I'm taking my HB at the end of August, and my C-3s (dressage and traditional) in October.

That's awesome!!
Our Junior D team from our reigon (Rocky Mountain) placed FIRST! Isn't that awesome? I was pretty impressed with those kids.

Cleveland13 what dicipline did you do? I was in BN Eventing, I also stayed for Festival which was really good, I had a bunch of good lessons.

Dare2Jump, you're from Old Dominion right? I was on a team with two girls from Old Dominion, I thought that was pretty neat! I wanted to come to your region's tent and find you, but I was so dang busy the whole time I never got around to it!

Edit: Horsebliss, after the C2 you go onto your HB, which is unmounted knowledge (and now you must have your HB before your C3), after that come the C3 and B both of which you can do specialty ratings for now (traditional eventing, dressage, or show jumping), then it's the H (or is it called the HA?) which is more unmounted knowledge that must be passed before you go for your A.
I'm going for my HB and C3 next year! Good luck to you guys who are rating this year!

I was competing in Quadrille. My team won by a lot because the other team had a bit of a special horse that messed up their tests a few times. We competed against the upper-level dressage teams in HM and placed 3rd with only 3 points. The 1st and 2nd place teams were tied with 2 points, so I was pretty happy.

Who were your clinicians? I had two really great rides with Christine Brown in XC and stadium. Plus I had a really fun polox clinic, and went on the competitive trail ride. It was all tons of fun!

Sweet! We tried quadrille once at our regional rally, that was rather neat, we sure learned alot.
Another girl from my club was in 1st level and up dressage at KY as well. They where that second place team! Hehe, they placed 2nd in both HM and riding, I was really pleased with her and her team.
Only 3 HM points is pretty dang good! That's what my team got (well 3.33 to be precise - ghost score) and we placed 5th in HM, so I was pretty pleased with that!

Um, I had stadium with Helmut Graetz (sp?), dressage with Betsy LaBelle and Maureen somebody, XC with Cathy Weischoff (sp?) which was a really really good lesson, and then I did the foxhunting clinic which was really relaxing, we mostly talked about foxhunting (which I want to get into this fall/winter) and rode around the XC course and jumped a bit. Some of my friends went on the trail ride, and after they went and talked about it I wished I had done it, it sounded like a blast! Oh well.

Clevlend13 I posted a post earlier about who was going.... I guess we missed each others posts....

I was not at festival, basicly the same reason as why I competed in quiz, I could not get the money together to bring a horse and compete in a mounted discipline ( I pay my own entry fees)

Nest year I really want to go for novice eventing and since we found out Dutch maxes out at novice I will be spending some time at that level and would love to place in the top three at both USPC nationals and AECs.

Congratulations to you and your team! Awesome job! I'm sorry to hear that you didn't get to go to the quiz exchange.. but there is always next year! You should be proud of yourself though, 2nd place overall is quite the accomplishment! Good luck with your C2 rating!
