| Senior Member+  | Using nonfat milk instead of evaporated milk?
I have everything needed to make fudge, except the evaporated milk. Since evaporated milk is just milk with water taken out, can I use my nonfat milk, just less of it? Also, it calls for a 1/2 pound of butter, but I am going to use margarine instead. |

i would think non-fat milk has MORE water in it....

dont bother it wont taste the same condensed milk is reduced from whole milk. you can try it but i think your gonna be dissapointed jmho

The butter is fine. I think the problem with the milk is that evaporated milk is WHOLE milk, with sugar added. So if you had whole milk, I would use double the amount (because it is condenced, not expanded when the moisture is taken out) and add more sugar.
