Urgent! Saddle sizes

Okay, if I rode a 15" western saddle, would I ride a 15" english saddle? I thought I remember hearing that you get a bigger english saddle. I weigh roughly 135 lbs. and am about 5' 4.5".

yes I would say you need a 17 or an 18 maybe even a 19 depending on what you are comfortable in. I am using a size sixteen dressage saddle right now an dI weigh 102 pounds. Im 5'4 so you would definetly need a bigger saddle ten me or maybe not. just try some out. BU ti would sya a seventeen or an eight teen the way you make it sound

You'll prob. need something around a 17 inch. It will depend on the make though.

17, 18, or 19!?

I ride in a size 16 1/2 english saddle, and a size 16 western (but it is a bit big one me). I think a 16 - 17 would be good, just try some out.

hey it all depends on the size of your butt. YOu can never really tel what size or make of saddle someone needs until you see them plop their rear ends down in it. I know a girl who rides in a size ninteen saddle. She weighs about 140 and is about 5'3 and all hr wieght is in her rear. YOu just cant tell. But I would say a 17 or an 18 only a 19 if you absolutly need to have that big feel which some people coming from western to english need.

WOOT! Just what I needed to hear. I, an extreme novice in the horse showing biz, need a suede seat on my english saddle or I slide off. I need the extra traction..only problem is, they seem slightly hard to find. But while looking on ebay I found one..17", used but a bargain at $25. Shall I post a link for opinions?

I think it would fit you well, (but every saddle and saddle brand is differnet).

Okay, I am getting ready to break out in my happy dance. I think it would be good for riding at the house, I like riding enligsh. Doesn't come with girth, stirrups or leathers. But I believe I will find those ratther cheap.

Do you ride flat seat like that? If it's just for fun I might try looking for an all purpose saddle instead.
