it is so hard to sell saddles if they don't work but it sounds like a fairly good deal. I would try to get her down to $2200 if possible, give yourself some breathing room on the resale. If you horse is bucking with the other one, don't bother. but the fact that he sounds so sensitive would make me nervous to spend so much on saddles you haven't tried on. i have bought three saddles on ebay to get a good deal and have ended up donating them to theraputic riding centers. i am now trying saddles from the local saddle shop which will cost me more up front, but i will get something that works for me and my horse. the wrong tack, no matter how nice, is worthless if it doesn't fit your horse. good luck!~

I've sat in it myself, and it's very comfortable. (We are both about 5'4", 5'5") And her REALLY hard to fit horse likes it too.
Wonderful, thank you. I am 5'5" and that is the model I am looking at. My horse is quite picky as well- right now we have a beautiful extended trot-bareback. *sighs*. I don't know what it is but I think it has something to do with where I am sitting in the saddle vs. bareback. I am hoping that the complete adjustability of the schleese will be a good choice for us.

It is 3k for 2 saddles, a jumping and a dressage. Should I try to get down to $2200 for both of them together?

The fit is the real reason I am looking at the Schleese saddles- I will get them adjusted to my horse when they come, if I do buy.

We had several professional saddle fitters look at this Hano mare, including a Stubben rep. None were able to provide a saddle that didn't make her sore. This mare was unrideable for about 3 months due to saddle fit issues.

The Schleese saddle free'ed her up IMMEDIATELY. It was hard to believe my eyes. They adjusted the saddle right there on site, and watched the rider and horse go in it.

The first time I sat in this saddle, I could feel a difference in the mare. I'm a believer! I was sad I didn't have $$ to buy one myself!

P.S. 3k for two saddles sounds like a good deal to me--I don't think they had any used ones there for under $2000. And they will adjust the used ones for you--I think it was around $200 for a saddle fit and adjustment session? (And I think that included up to 3 saddles.) Hope I'm remembering that right--since I didn't pay the bill, I don't remember specifics...

My student paid almost $4000 new for hers.

Wonderful, thank you. I am hoping that spending money now will save me money and training difficulties in the future. And I have heard nothing but good things about the JES elite specifically, although not too much on the Pouvoir.

Oh great, thank you. Both of the saddles I am looking at were a little more than $3600 new (each) and used about 10 times. So I would be saving more than $4k- that seems like a pretty good deal to me.

If they've truely only been used 10 times each, I would not ask her to lower the price any more.

Ok, thanks I will double check, and I may try to get it down to $2800... or have the price include fittings at least.
