i'd definatly tell them that, or maybe whe you go to visit pull it with you and show them

I'd definitely contact them and explain the trailer better... he was probably thinking you were talking about a straight load.

Let me know how it goes! I've always wanted to go up there.

I'm sure it's basically the same as the smaller out of town adoptions... you do get to get pretty close to see the horses and some are even friendly enough to approach for a scratch.

This was one of the out of town adoptions in Norco that I went to... the horses are seperated by age and gender.

Once you pick the one you want they go in on horseback and seperate it from the others. Get it into the run in between the corrals and run it down to the end into these chutes (((next pics down))) for a halter and into the trailer

getting a halter on one and into a trailer

OK...its official. I have an appointment to go pick up a mustang on Tuesday. I am super excited. Now I have to spend the time getting my corral ready (well....it's ready but cleaned out...safety checked, etc).

You guys were right. I sent pictures of the trailer and it was approved to carry one if we remove the center divider.

I'm looking at getting a 3-6 year old. I'd prefer a mare because I don't like geldings but it all depends on what they have up there. The gentleman I spoke with said they have 5 or 6 hundred head to choose from. I want something ready to ride as soon as its ready to ride Plus I know the older they are the harder time they have adopting them out.

Secret Haven...did you get yours from BLM Ridgecrest or via the online BLM adoption that was just held?

Oh how cool! I don't think you'll be disappointed

I sort of grew up with mustangs, and I have a feeling I attended the same adoption in TO that horse_mom did a few years ago. Was it at Waverly, and were 99% of the horses bay or chestnut?

My aunt has three, the eldest of which is over 30 and I grew up riding. He did all kinds of mounted cavalry reinactment stuff (wish I could be more specific!) and was never ever lame. She has two younger ones, one she got at an adoption in Lake Perris and I'm not sure where she got the last. They definitely all have different personalities-- her 10 year old was incredibly easy to gentle and break, but the youngest one has gone through many trainers and has been a lot more difficult.

Pegaso, the "middle one"

And Riddler, the youngest. He has a hard time keeping weight on. (He's the brown/black, not the champagne!)

(She now lives in VA, if you couldn't tell that wasn't Southern Cali LOL)

Good luck!

Well He came from the Ridgecrest facility. My boyfriends mother adopted him from the adoption they held at the LAEC in April. They couldnt really handle him, So we transfered him to me threw the BLM.

Super Excited about Tuesday. I have been googling like mad. Found pictures that say they were taken pretty recently of some of the horses in the corrals..I already have a favorite from these pictures....what do you guys see (note: of course...there are 500 + horses to choose from...and some of these may not still be there).
