Heads up everyone...and please share this with all of your breed registries and forums if you can. If you have a website, feel free to post it there as well.

A new game plan, strategized by Trina Kenney, is occurring: the use of PO Boxes in several states. Right now they are UPS PO Boxes, but this does not have to be limited to UPS...Consider Mailboxes Etc. and even USPS PO Boxes. The use of a private company such as UPS for mail fraud is still illegal and a federal concern.

The addresses given, by Ms. Kenney, (aka right now: Irishgypsies and Prestige Distributions (or derivatives of this name)), do NOT indicate they are UPS...but they are all UPS store locations. We need to let the public and horse industry know. Please note these are not limited to the sate of California any longer.

Ms. Kenney has also appeared to have found a proofreader and spellcheck, so the composition of her correspondence may appear educated and refined at this time - what a change I tell you. I wonder if Sylvan can be congratulated on this? (sorry, snicker).

Trina is now selling horse's using other states not just California any more and usually either Friesan's, Warmbloods or Gypsy horse's and uses's other peoples pics of their horse's which she has even threatened in the past to use Mercury's pic in a ad and try to get money for him so please keep your eyes open for that too as I would never sell my horse.

I am so mad that she is still out there as apparently there are two new victims We have 2 new confirmed victims w/n the last 1-2 months, all being from advertisements from other states. She is back using her childrens names for contact and also 'prestige distribution'..

I will keep on posting stuff when I find out stuff so you guys know.. just be very careful and if a great horse is going very cheap just double check everything about it and I advise honestly to go look at it unless it is a highly repitable breeder and well known.

I am not sure what one can do if she is getting money from using other people's horse's pictures. Fraud yes, but as to what form and punishment I could not tell you.
I just hope she gets hers and soon before someone gets killed!

Hi, new to this site. We joined to provide you with info that we included on Ripoff.com. (below) Jen, God bless you for keeping this evil, ugly person in front of everyone. While we were't swindled (and easily could of been, came very close) this poorest excuse for a human being broke my daughters heart, and as a parent, I'd like to see her get her just reward!! Has anyone appraoched the national media about this? Please let me know.

I had requested bids to transport the horse via the internet. All the transporters that responded have been sent the posts / info on these scams. Many of them were already aware of it.
I've included the info below in case it is useful to someone. Plus add to the increasing list of aliases.
She is now using paypal as a way to accept payments.
She also told me she home schools her kids in her car as she travels with her job. hmmmm maybe child services should invesigate that one.

This information is for the folks who have been scammed by the Kenneys on the Friesian mare purchases. The below information was valid as of 5/26/08. We were almost ripped off by these people. Same scenario as what is reported on this site, Rip-off, by several different people who were scammed.

We were thrilled to be able to purchase such a quality Friesian mare at an unbelievable price. The mare was to be a dream fulfilled for our 13 year old daughter. Our daughter was beside herself thinking she was to own a Friesian. Aka "Kate" Kenney knew the horse was for a child. She didn't care. She would have been more than willing to take our money. This evil, heartless woman needs to be stopped.

We were very fortunate because before I wired her the deposit, I googled the address she gave me for the horse location (to arrange transportation) The address was bogus and her answers about it could not satisfy my questions. My bank person was very suspicious of possible identity fraud and requested a copy of Kenney’s license faxed to the bank before the wire was sent; which Kenney wouldn't supply. Still, not sure of what to do and wanting the horse for our daughter, we offered to come and get the horse the next morning and pay cash, but Kenney “had to go out of town.” Kenney kept pressuring us to send the money to hold the horse for us, something we wouldn’t do until we could verify that a healthy Friesian mare did exist. Kenney became increasingly abusive. Every step of the way, more and more red flags started popping up.

My family is not in the horse business. We just wanted a quality horse for our little girl as a pet and to ride and show. The Kenney’s are taking full advantage of novice, unsuspecting people like us. Anyone who has been scammed or almost scammed by these people needs to file a report with the FBI @ www.ic3.gov.

I can't even go into the events of the last 2 weeks with Trina. She was Laura or Stacey from Bonnie Illinois. Her e-mail as of now is icelandic_horses @ yahoo.com feel free to give her a call or send her a mail. If you google her e-mail you can find her cell phone number. I'll have to get into it later but she got my girlfriend who runs a christian kids camp in Ohio for $2,500.00 I have been diligent in letting her know through phone calls and e-mails that she will soon have her day. She has called me every name imaginable and has accussed me of harassment and has threatened to report me to the police. I encouraged her to.... I'll report on her later. I've contacted the local Animal control in her county and they had not heard of her??? WHAT? I am currently in prayer about my role in putting an end to her. Do I do what I can or let God take care of it? I'll be in touch. I encourage anyone to mail her with truth and facts and ask her how she sleeps at night.

examples are: the horse Trina advertised is owned by another party and
Not Ms. Kenney, the horse does not exist at all, or the horse is already
deceased. Ms. Kenney has been documented using other people’s
photographs and pedigrees as well. I can go on and on with the
horse-related crimes this woman has committed, but as this is not the
primary reason for my letter, I will abstain.


UPDATE:
There are over 70 victims that we know of and over $200K in documented
losses. One of the victims was, at the time, an eight year-old little
girl named Sammy. Sammy and her Mom lost $5000 to Ms Kenney.

As a resource created for the victims of Trina Kenney and her husband
Rick, a forum was created on awhitehorse.com (“awh”). Over the last two
years, the members of this forum have become a close cyber family. The
members include advocates, victims and various horse industry members.
This group can be credited with preventing new victims, guiding current
victims to legal resources, support for the victims, and most recently,
a fund raiser to get Sammy her horse in time for Christmas.

Sammy, now nine years old, and her Mom needed assistance to find the
appropriate horse and financially procure it. It is with happiness that
I am able to tell you that because of the help from the members of the
awitehorse.com forum, Sammy has got her horse.

Freckles and Sammy met in mid-December and hit it off. Freckles, a
middle-aged white mare, took great care with Sammy on her test rides,
while Sammy sung,“You are my Sunshine.” You can see the video here:

Ms. Kenney and her husband are under active investigation. We are just trying to minimize the damage until they arrest her.

There is some importance to this post in that the poster was Trina Kenney..."alleged" horse sales scammer....

This is a quoted letter from one of Ms. Kenney's victims:

"In November I purchased 2 Registered horses, one AQHA gelding who is 14 and another APHA Mare who is a dun tobiano Mare who is 12. They were sold to me for a 7 & 9 yr old girls X Mas presents, and to use for guided trail rides on our dude ranch / bed and breakfast . Seller said they were KID SAFE horses, the women used the name Destiny Jennings of Temecula - 33175 State Hwy 79 Suite # A111

She sent me very pretty pics of the horses and they were in good health and shiny , pretty animals.

After about 1 week of trying to recover the horses I bought, thru emails and phone calls. I ended up making a 650 mile round trip for her not to show up at the meeting place in Norco and so she had me drive to Temecula., she gave me a bum physical address. She called me when I told her I contacted the sheriff ( bluff ) and that i wanted to pick the horses up NOW. She said she was stuck in La and would not be home for 2 days. She felt awful and would pay the shipping since I drove all the way down.

Then the 2 horses arrived at my place with a horse shipper [omitted for shippers protection] and I had to pay $500 to get them unloaded. The seller gave them a bad phone number for me and so they could not call me to let me know what was going on. They were the same horses in the pics that she sent me, just about 300 lbs lighter and sick

And then I was even in more awe ...

finding out they were NOT KIDS horses nor horses for most people, the paint mare bucked and acted as if she had never been rode at all. the gelding was not friendly at all, they were SKINNY and SICK. Had not had hoof care in a long time, were scared to death of everyone.

I called the bank to see where the checks had been cashed and by whom. The signature was unreadable, however a search of the back account uncovered the sellers REAL NAME ... After searching and do some serious homework. I found that TRINA KENNY had sold the horses to me. She had me make the checks to Horses and Ponies ( her business name ) which is lic. thru the BBB. Whom I also contacted.

She used a false name , and that this was her game. She has pulled this on [hundreds of] people this yr alone [2006].

This women drives several brand new trucks and trailers, has mulitple residences and thrives on screwing the normal horse people. She buys these horses from Southern Cal horse auctions and then resells them for TOP DOLLAR on line... I bought these off WWW.DREAMHORSE.COM She has sold several horses more than 3 times, and never refunded money, stole deposits on horses, sold papers only and then sold the horses to someone else. She is clever and she changes colors like a chameleon"
