Thank you, everyone, for all of the support, prayers, and thoughts in this.

I haven't spoken to Erika yet this morning, but I'm just hoping that the barn made it through the night.

You guys are the best!

I just found some articles on it online --

One says it is 7% contained, the other says 16%.

It is now the #1 priority of the about 1000 fires in California.

Firefighters believe it was started by humans.

3000 people have been evacuated thus far.

Governor Arnold Schwartzenneger has called in national guard troops to provide ground support.

There are thousands of homes currently threatened, and this is the critical time for containing as much as possible.

How awful! I hope everything turns out okay for everyone, and the horses stay safe, as well!

I just heard on FNC that the Golita (SP?) fire near Santa Barbara doubled in size overnight and 1,700 homes are evacuated. They also said that the HS had been opened as an evacuation site and was almost filled already.

Definately that area needs MAJOR prayers/thoughts!

I think I just read that exact article. As of 40 minutes ago, 20 structures had been burned because the fire was still 1.5 miles north of the major residential areas, but was moving towards them. Thousands of homes are threatened as it continues to move that way.

I don't know anything as of this morning. If I do know more, I will text Mindy and have her update.

As of yesterday, the fire was 5% contained at best, so 16% would be a biggg stretch. It was insane last night; we were watching it getting bigger and bigger.
