Update on Haflinger Mare

Hi All,

It's been a while since I've been able to post anything about her as we were still trying to get her and other horses out of this terrible situation and the owner was becoming defensive as she'd found out about the rescue efforts. Anyhow, this ol gal is now safe and sound in a new home and we were able to rehome all but the oldest two (I believe another trainer has taken this mare's last colt). She is indeed pregnant and we're not sure if it's by the Arabian stallion who was in the enclosure bordering hers or from her own colt who was over a year old and still turned out with her. However, I wanted to show some before and after pics thus far. The first are obviously the before pics. The next three shots are from two weeks after she was at her new home and the last photo is a little more current. She was brought to her new home on July 15th and has a place there forever with a loving owner who thinks the world of her. She still has a ways to go (I'm getting more recent photos from the new owner as soon as the weather clears up) but has come sooo far since she was brought to the new owner. On to the pics....

Two weeks after being removed from previous owners

The most recent, from late August/early Sept. I believe.

Anybody thinking about breeding horses, just to have a cute baby, ought to look at this poor mare. Or live like some of these poor animals do. Thank you for rescuing her, and not giving up in the face of antagonism from owner. God bless you.

Wow, that is amazing. It takes a loving soul to rescue a horse. Thank you for saving another one of our blessed children!
