Update on Dunn

For those who've been following my purchase of a stud colt in exchange for the breeding to Missouri Peppy Bar when my mare didnt take.. here's an update.

Well I got a shocker when I called Bev tonight (I have to call her back at 8pm EST)

Here where I thought he was 16 mos old, I got his bday off Bev tonight and heck my COLT is 21 mos old! lol I was like OMG... Anyways, that's good for me though because when I get him home I can start him under saddle! lol

Anyways. I got all his stats now, since I've been lazy getting them for y'all

Reg Name: Peps Ambers Fire
Reg #: 4547972
Foaling Date: June 08, 2003
Sire: Missouri Peppy Bar
Dam: Yakies Ambers Fire
Color: Red Dun
Markings: Blaze, Right Fore Sock, Doral Stripe, Zebra Stripes and Flaxen Mane and tail

He's doing well, and if all goes well I'll be going to see him around the end of this month or the beginning of next!

Stephanie

Oh wow, what a shock. You must be so excited that you can start riding him so much sooner than you thought!

Yes, it is a shock, but it's a GOOD shock, because I can start his training sooner than planned, I was going to wait until he was 2.5 years old anyways, which I thought was gonna be a long time! but NOPE, only 8 mos! lol which I might start him at 25-26 months just to get him some time under saddle and then build him slowly at 29 months to slightly heavier work.

Thats great steph!! I didn't know he was red dun, I guess is name sort of gives it away, but I never thought about it. He sounds SO cute! I can't wait to see pics of him!

Yeah I figured a suitable barn name would be Dunn- better than Fire, Amber or Pep! lol
I'll get loads of pics when I go to see him.. I have to go see his 1/2 sister for a friend of mine (willodean) so I have to save some film for Pics of the filly, but I'll get lots of our boy too!

Don't push him too hard. You know how I feel about breaking babies. I might have to steal him away from you for horse abuse!!

Marshalltown, Iowa, it is against the law for a horse to eat a fire hydrant.

Shell, you know I wont push my baby too hard. He'll just get walked/trotted until he's 30 odd months and then he'll get cantered a couple times a week, he wont even gallop with a rider until he's at least 3.5 - 4 years old.

You'll have to shoot me to get my boy!
