UPDATE: My colt is home!

As I promised I have more flat pictures. and he's filled in better since settling in. he still needs to grow more. he's gonna be a very big boy. ive been starting him on round penning and he's picking it all up very quickly. I still cant get ahold of my farrier . its been two weeks I realise he's busy but still! anyways just to update the ppl who havent read the old thread, which would be hard to believe lol .

REG Name: Coys Roman Jewel
Barn Name: Cowboy
Age: 1 year 2 months
height now: 14.2 hands
Height of parents: 16 Hands & 15.2 hands
Hypp Status: N/N
Color: Grey
Plans For Cowboy: 5-10 halter points by age 4, ROM by age 10 and atleast 1 championship before retirement. (if he dont meet the first requirement he wont be bred until he does) if he should fail miserablly he will be gelded. Also if At anytime im not COMPLETELY satisfied with him, his confirmation, his temperment and lability to learn and show he will be gelded. I wont contribute to the less than show quality animals in the horse market.

My goal as a POTENTIAL small time breeder:
To train Cowboy in halter and showmanship then once mature I will barrel race him which he is showing more and more potential for everytime I watch him. If He doesnt show he will have what he needs to be able to both HALTER and RIDE then he will be gelded.

(just for the record: I'm NOT doing this for money. Im doing it because Im tired of those halter horses with blobby bodies and dinky toothpicks for legs that are lame before they can even be broke out)

To prevent any argument please read everything on my post.

This pic is just so everyone can see him better and can see him as he changes and as I train him Ill be posting videos of him as well. so this is merely an update!

thanks
Nikki

Im posting this same post in the critique section for those looking to have fun at my boy's expence head over there to critique...ALTHOUGH Opinions on strictly stallion related care is welcome. Ive seen afew differnt ways to keep a stud but I'd like to know what ppl other than locals are doing to keep thier studs happy healthy and safe. anything other than that (like confirmation critiquing can be posted on the other thread) I have him with my geldings, they are a little bossy but I think that will be good for him.

thanks
Nikki

I keep my stallion in his own pasture about 25 feet away from the girls. He can see them and talk to them all he wants. I also have a 24x24 stall that he goes into when the pasture needs a break from grazing. Agian he is within sight of the other horses and usually is only 10 feet from at least one of the others. My stallion has been raised with only mares and is actually very well behaved so I don't worry about him to much. He only gets goofy when one of the girls gets out or when we let them "get to know each other" if you know what I mean. I also ride my stallion about 2 times a week so he gets plenty of exercise.
