Thanks for the compliments on my mare and her previous colt! Although you can't see it very well from the pictures (it's all about the angle lol), both have faults to include relatively short necks that tie in lower than I would like. And, even though I love both of them, neither one is optimal for procreation . That's why her current foal is her last one and her previous colt is now a gelding. But in my eyes, as their loving owner, they are both gorgeous. |

How's she doing? Any more news? I am crazy with anticipation, we should have a poll going , with guesses as to who foals first! Cathy

Hi Cathy! She's becoming more and more distant from the other horses (they share a common fence), spending a lot of time in her stall. I've started putting her in the stall at night and letting her out during the day. She is shedding like crazy. Yesterday, the foal was moving more than ever before and she didn't look terribly happy about it. She has a great appetite, though. My daddy, who grew up on a ranch, says she will foal on the next full moon (Feb. 20), which is also a lunar eclipse. The previous owner called last week and said he thought it would be the 20th. So...two independent opinions giving the same day Here are pictures from yesterday (not sure that they look much different from last week, though). ![]() |
