Uh oh.. my friend rescued another one.. :)

I went over to my friend's place and noticed a mare alone in her apple-orchard paddock, which she usually uses to isolate anyone who's new or sick. I thought nothing of it, thinking that it was one of ehr blind mares. But later, I saw that mare in her stall, and I thought hmm..
Later on, we were outside and it was getting dark; my friend says she wants to show us her new mare. So we go in the orchard and there's this chestnut mare eating her grain; 20 year old QH, who was only one step away from being bought for meat when my friend outbid the meatbuyer.
Her body is in really good condition physically, except for her feet. One of them had to be filled in with epoxy, it was missing a chunk. The angles of her pasterns do not look right. I was unable to see much as it was getting dark, but she was a sweet tempered old gal. Turns out, predictably, she is in foal too. Sigh... idiots who have an old mare, who DON'T even BOTHER to have ehr feet fixed and looked after, breeding her anyways.. UGH. I wanted to cry seeing this mare, but I am just glad that my friend has her and will keep her as long as she lives.
That's the "uh oh" part of the title of this.. something tells me I want her. She is a seasoned riding horse. Although, I would never ever ride her with her feet in the condition they're in; maybe, if she is ever sound again and after her future foal is weaned..
