Ughh...I hate helmets, but I really should wear one...

Ok, I NEVER wear a helmet. Mostly because they bug the living cr.ap out of me! Red and Sunny (well, not so much Sunny) are pretty laid back for the most part, never spook, buck, ect...but Linus is a bucker. Not in a bad way, they're just playful bucks (I'm working with him on that).

Anyway, back to my point. I'm gonna start wearing a helmet when i'm on Linus. I have one, but I hate it. It's an International (I think..). I know, I know, I should wear a helmet ALL THE TIME, but it seems that all the ones I use majorly flop around on my head and get in my way. SO, I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions for a good helmet before I went out and started blindly looking at helmets. Thanks in advance!

always where a helmet! no matter how laid back a horse might be.. you always need to wear a helmet... wearing a helmet will prevent anything bad from happening... you should always always always wear one.... at shows you have to where something on your head... so i recommend just learn to deal with the helmet and wear one becuase your horses might take you by surprise..... every horse will buck or spook..... you will have a better chance at living if ya wear a helmet....

Woah eventerfool, calm down, lol. I never said I don't wear a helmet because my horses are laid back. I was just comparing Red and Sunny to Linus.

Anyway, thanks, i'll take a look in SLT...I have a mag around here somewhere

Oh, by the way, I do barrels, so in most shows I do it's not a requirement to wear a helmet. But I still need one.

Hey, eventerfool, just realized you're in PA. Where at in PA?

I'd suggest a Lexington Lidlocker. I have the same problem with you, and with a lidlocker, I can adjust the tightness to fit me each day, and I can wear a headband in the winter too, and still make it fit snuggly enough.

Bella, are those the helmets that have the velcro straps on either side to tighten or loosen? If that's the helmet you're talking about and I'm thinking of, I LOVE THOSE lol Thanks!

If your helmet moves and especially 'flops', it is way too big, and would most likely fall off if you were thrown.
