Ha ha! I saw Karen O'Connor do that at Red Hills a few years ago--she WASN'T supposed to salute, but she did. Oops!

Congrats on your score--I'm glad you're doing well. Have fun on XC--I ran their Novice course once, and it was a blast! Best of Luck!

Alright, so I'm back from Stadium (they're running up to 3* so they had novice do stadium and then xc)! It went really well, and Bodie was amazing, as always

We pretty much full out galloped the entire thing, only because Bodie saw the Advanced riders doing cross country and got a teensy bit excited. Kinda scared my trainer though!

We went double-clear (I'm pretty sure we shaved a good 20 seconds off the time limit!), and didn't touch a thing! I'm really happy because this was the first time that Bodie has ever gone clear at an event!!!

It was very exhilarating also, going so fast - Bodie got 5 strides in a line that my trainer got 7 strides in I'm very glad we went clear though, and SO excited for xc tomorrow! I'll update then

First off, I have to say that I am SO SO SO sorry for not being around the last few months - it's been really crazy (two musicals at the same time, finals, and work - I got home after 9 every night!).

Anyway, the rest of the event was AMAZING! Taking Bodie cross country was a blast and I had the time of my life We finished on our dressage score and took home 6th place - not too shabby for my first event

Last month, I went to another event, the Woodside Horse Trials. We had an incredible dressage test, scoring an amazingly low 32 (the last test, we got a 41.5!) I was really happy, especially since the night before the test, I got kicked by a random horse at the wash racks, and fragmented some bones in my ankle and was on crutches the entire weekend

Stadium didn't go as well as dressage, and we put down two rails, but I was really proud of how I rode - I managed to keep my ankle stress-free and to slow Bodie down when he wanted to gallop.

XC was, as always, the best part of the entire event! We did very well, with no penalty points, even though I took the wrong line to the 17th fence (Oops!). Ended up two seconds before optimum time, luckily Bodie liked to gallop so after I messed up on the turn, we galloped the straightaway and was perfect on time.

We ended in 8th place, but overall, I was really proud of how I rode and how we did. Now I know we just have to work on Stadium!
