M, the fit of the McAllister is HORRIBLE for my mare. It's incredibly short in the shoulder, a very small neck opening, very droopy in the rear, and the tail flap is.....stupid, for lack of a better term. It's LONG and only connected to the actual blanket for a few inches. It's hard to explain really. It also seems really cheap...Which it was

Honestly if you're looking for something inexpensive, I'd go with a Schneider's that's just a little bit more. http://www.sstack.com/shopping/produ...eyword=aquanon

That pink & zebra blanket is pretty hideous isn't it Really though Eda, I don't know if you'd need the Full Fit...IJJ's Northwind fits Kai just fine, and Kai is a BIIIIIIG boy!

Hmmmm..... I almost wonder if that would fit Melody! I always have a problem with much too large neck holes (she has a very small shoulder and a high-set, thin Arab neck)I have a few Schneiders blankets and most are too large in the neck.. I don't like the adjusta-fit system at all, but that's the only way it fits her.

Kai: (this is the best confo type photo I could find )

Torreau:

Nah, Kai's chest is HUGE- I have had so many problems with shoulder rubbing, all his blankets- but not with my Rambo, northwind, or bucas (with gathering at shoulders).

I think Kai is a fair amount wider than Torreau- he's also grown a fair bit from the time that photo was taken.

Honestly, I can't think of a horse who would need a bigger cut than Kai except a draft- he really is an 84 in Rambo, which is supposes to be one of the bigger cuts out there. The 84 northwind fit him just as well

oh ps Shan- one of the horses at my barn has a riders int lightweight that has torn down the side seam, and another has one of those 1680d tuffriders I mentioned before. It is in really nice condition- plus, the pattern us really cute I've seen some good reviews- and you might save a bit of $$. I was wanting a Rambo sheet but I think i'm just going to go with the tuffrider- then I can afford new half chaps and boots as well! You should check out the tuffriders in a tack store, I checked them out at mine and the quality seems very good.

*sigh* phone spazzing- that thread has a picture of Kai in the blanket.

I wish he had worn it longer so I could say with complete certainty that it won't rub him, but it just hasn't been cold enough! He's worn it for a day and a night and seemed happy and comfy- and he didn't tear it (even though he did manage to put a small hole in his Rambo the first day)

Oh cool pictures of the blanket! Thanks You wouldn't happen to know which RI blanket that horse has that is torn? If it's the 1200D I think I'll definitely go up to the 1680D with the warranty.

I'm not sure exactly which sheets you are talking about...But they're in Dover's catalog? I just really need a LW blanket rather than a sheet. I think most of the horses there have MW blankets and it would just be so much easier if I could have just one blanket (and one stable sheet) for the barn workers to fiddle with, rather than a sheet and liners

IJJ I was looking through your photos for a good *side shoulder* shot, & that was the closest one I could find. My concern was more about the amount hte shoulder moves in the blanket (Torreau has alot of shoulder movement...more than the other horses in the barn) but after seeing your other thread with Kai moving, I don't think it's more than Kai -- probably right on pare with him.

Hey can you tell me if the RI fit exactly as measured??

I've posted here and on COTH, and the general consensus seems to be yes they do I was hoping they ran a tad big, because the 78" and smaller are cheaper than the 80" and bigger! LOL
