The TRUE aussie spirit~ I need all opinions! if possible you don't have to be aussie

I am doing an essay at the moment and I am seeing what other people view as the TRUE australian spirit. In other words, what do you see as the spirit of our country or what you think of it and what EMBODIES it. please write an opinion below. Include anything you think is the non-stereotypic aussie spirit via unity, culture mateship and your community. you do not need to be aussie yourself. thanks very much!

What i think embodies a true australian.

Laid back approach to everything
Willing to help out in any situation.
Our joking nature.
Always willing to give something a go.

Not all aussies are like this, but an iconic Australian would have all theses traits.

Goodluck with the assignment!

I think the Aussie Spirit is

A "never say die attitude"...

A laid back " she'll be right mate" attitude

Being doing a hard days work, and heading to the "local" with your mates after work...

Its pitching in and helping without wanting anything in return.

Its a sense of pride "the aussie battler", not asking for help or charity even during the hard times

Its putting differences and opinions aside to help the greater good.

Its being able to laugh at yourself, and others, without anyone being offended

My idea of the true Aussie is a no nonsense person who calls a spade a spade, whilst at the same time it the one you can turn to in times of need. Chances are though, he is already beside you. Offer him anything in life as a reward and the answer is more likely "Just buy me a beer next time at the pub", he really does it cause it is just him, not for the thanks.

He is the joker in the mob, the one who will test his new battery fence pack by looping a wire to the metal chair at the bbq.

He's the bloke that when life gets tough doesn't moan about it, but looks at how to get himself out of the poo. Try to give him a buck and he'll tell you "I'm right, thanks anyway".

The aussie is the one when all the motels in town are booked out, he can find a bed for you, even if it is his swag on the veranda.

The true aussie is a trusting person, the ones who will trust you with his dog or partner.

The true aussie is getting harder to find, specially in the cities and big towns. Familiarity breeds contempt.

Very good, i think an aussie is someone who takes every day in their stride they don't live without plan but they don't live stressing that their plans won't go right. We're a laid back group, there may not always be an easy answer but we'll find it through our hard spirits, will and courage. But also our passion to help in need, our will to make sure everyone is satisfied, safe and cared for. Our ambitions to give everyone a chance and master what they want to master.
A group of people who will be, what they want to be, and everyone will love them for it.

hehe thats what i'd write!
