Triple Crown Lite

I ordered some Triple Crown Lite, should be in next week.
How much should I feed of it to each of my horses?

http://www.triplecrownfeed.com/litefeeding.php

That is the link to the feeding directions.
I'm not sure how much to feed my boys and girl.

Dandy 14hh paint 10-15yrs (Closer to 10)
Trouble 13.2ish hh POA mare 4yrs old

Both Dandy and Trouble are easy keepers. They are currently in light to no work.

Bandit is a miniature horse, 38inches 4 yrs old. He's under weight right now. He has gained weight since I got him though.

Thanks!

What are their body conditions like right now? How much do they weigh? What are you looking to achieve with this feed?

I feed each of mine 3 pounds daily for maintenance.

According to the feeding directions your mini should get 1 pound per day.

The other two should get between 2-4 pounds, any more than 4 pounds and you need to switch feeds because of mineral overdose.

So I feed them like horses, not ponies?

I'm not sure how much they weigh. I'm sure they are under 1000lbs because they are not big horses. I always call them horses but others call them ponies.

Thanks

Both of mine are 14 hands and less than 1000 pounds. If they are getting too fluffy from it, adjust it down...

Because of the nutritional profile of this feed, I would recommend starting a bit higher, and working down if body condition calls for it.

The 'technical' feeding directions are actually 1-2 lbs per 500 lbs of body weight.

Hence a 2-4 lb range for the 1000 lb horse.

So if your POA weighs 650 lbs (just for instance), then her feeding guideline would be 1.3-2.6 lbs

If the mini weighs (or should weigh rather) 300 lbs, then his feeding range is .6-1.2 lbs

I found that it was too high calorie (because of amount required) for my mare. And too low nutrition for my gelding. But if it fits into the parameters that your horses need, it's a very good feet.
