If we get a horse that is dfficult about his feet we like to give them a workout before we do their feet. Just to get them a little calmer and more settled. But most ferriers are pretty good in dealing with horses that have problems lifting their feet. Hope this helps!

Most time farrier will tell you 6-8 weeks for a trim, but some horses only grow a lil and some have fast growing feets, so talk and ask your farrier on when, he would know and would be may able to point out certain things to watch for.
Also have your farrier to show and deomostrate how to properly lift and hold the back feet, he is right there for you and would be mostly glad to helps you out, but be careful.
I hope this helps.

Sancho,
I'd have the farrier out soon to check out her hooves and so they can meet each other. He will have some pointers about how to get her to 'give' you her back feet
Keep up the good work!
Beth
