tricks

so I have a 34" mini that Iv had since he was a baby[he'll be 5 April 5] and I cnat seem to find anything for him to do! He's not registered, but then hes not built for mini showing anyways. He's terrified of anything on wheels[aka carts, strollers, wheelbarrows, you get the picture...] and Im really not into driving anyways. Id like to teach him some tricks... but dont really know a whole lot about them... can anyone tell me of some tricks and how to do them!? thanks!

The best thing to do is to get a book and a video to learn how to teach tricks. You could do a lot with a mini though. You could teach all sorts of stuff - smiling, counting, standing on a log, yes and no, sitting, laying down, waving a hankerchief, lots of liberty work, soccer....

But, before you start any of that, you really need to work with him to get him to not be so afraid of things. Do some groundwork. You can still do join up with a mini.

Iv done Join Up with him a few times already. He does have good ground manners, etc... but when it comes to rolling things he just flips. He's gotten better about it since last year I spent a good amount of time just leading him with a stroller or wagon... He wont lose his head, but he's still not where he could be. The only thing Iv found that hes afraid of is rolly stuff. He ties, crossties, loads, baths, picks up his feet, jumps, walks/trots in hand, etc.

thanks LotsOfSavvy!
